Norwich YMCA Pre-schoolers learn about community helpers

NORWICH – The Pre-school at the Norwich YMCA got a special visit from a dump truck on Wednesday. The last two weeks the Pre-schoolers have been learning about community helpers such as firemen and policemen.

Wednesday, the students got a special visit from a Chenango County DPW worker who drives large vehicles, Tim Miller. Miller is also a parent of one of the students in the Pre-school classroom and volunteered to show the Pre-schoolers the dump truck he drives for work.

“Last week we visited the firehouse and the library,” said Kaitlin Korver a Pre-school Teacher. “Today we thought that it would be an engaging learning experience for the kids to see a dump truck and learn about what they do.”
