Fire rips through Randall ave residence Saturday

NORWICH – The City of Norwich Fire Department along with North Norwich and Oxford Fire, responded to yet another house fire in the City of Norwich over the weekend.

The City of Norwich Fire Department was alerted by the home owner to a house fire at 110 Randall Avenue in the Town of Norwich Saturday afternoon at 4:23 p.m.

Upon arrival of the duty crew, the structure had heavy fire on the first floor. After the building's occupants were accounted for, Captain Steward directed the extinguishment of the fire while additional apparatuses responded.

Although the fire was quickly brought under control, crews were on scene for nearly four hours overhauling and extinguishing hot spots while conducting an investigation to determine cause and origin.
