Calling all actors: Norwich Theater Company to hold open auditions

NORWICH – The Norwich Theater Company will be holding open auditions for their summer musical “The Music Man” tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the United Church of Christ on West Main Street in Norwich.
Any and all are invited to audition for the musical said Richard Heim, treasurer for the Norwich Theater Company. Anybody with any amount of experience can come out tonight and show what they've got.
“We will be asking those who audition to do a musical piece that we will teach before the audition,” said Heim. “We also encourage those auditioning to come prepared with a song.”
Heim also says that there will be an audition sheet available for download to prepare for the show online.
This is the fifth year that that the Norwich Theater Company has been in production. “Every year we try and have three different plays,” said Heim. “The summer musical will wrap up the 2014 – 2015 season.”
After “The Music Man” premiers in August, the Norwich Theater Company will be gearing up for their next production, “Miracle on 34th Street,” which will be opening in November. “We plan on starting production early in September,” said Heim. “That will be the start of our new season.”
In addition to "Miracle on 34th Street," the Norwich Theater Company plans on performing “Over The River and Through The Woods” and next summer's musical “Singing in The Rain."
Tonight, the Theater Company is calling both adults and kids who are interested in performing in August's musical. The show is set to open August 21 with performances running both the 22 and 23.
