SIDNEY - For the second straight game, Norwich received a 16-strikeout performance from its starting pitcher.
Marcus Cashman tossed a two-hit shutout at Sidney Monday night in Otsenango Pony League action, and walked just two batters in front of error-free Norwich defense.
Cashman helped his own cause at the plate finishing 4-for-4. James Herrig was 2-for-2 with two RBI, and Payton Stirone drove in a run.
Norwich (3-0) plays at Oxford Thursday.

Hillcrest Post #1194 5, Chenango Hellcats 4
HILLCREST – Hillcrest rallied for four runs in the top of the sixth to edge the Chenango Hellcats Monday in American Legion play.
Hillcrest's first three hitters – Chad Raychel, Matt Personius, and Andrew Zigenfaus – all had two hits in the win. Jacob Stone delivered the big blow for Hillcrest smacking a three-run homer to cap the sixth.
Hillcrest reliever Max Telfer pitched two innings to wrap up the game and earn the victory. "We were working the first pitcher, we just couldn't get anything going the last two innings," said Hellcats coach Jason Miller.
The Hellcats constructed a 4-1 lead after five innings. Nate Scheer tied the game at 1-1 in the second with an RBI single, and John Yacano scored the go-ahead run on a throwing error by Hillcrest.
McGwire Tuttle delivered an RBI single in the third, and Kevin Davis scored the fourth run in the fifth after a Hillcrest infield error.
Scheer was the lone Hellcats player with two hits, who played error-free baseball. "I can't say enough about the defense; it's kept us in games," Miller said.
The Hellcats host Oneonta today at 6 p.m.
