UV’s Taylor named all-state in baseball

SYRACUSE – Austin Taylor, a 2015 Unadilla Valley graduate, was recently named to the New York State Sportswriters Association all-state baseball team.
Taylor, a first baseman for the Storm, was a fourth team pick in Class C. He was also the only Chenango County boy to earn all-state honors in baseball. This past season, Taylor batted .462 for UV and drove in a team-high 23 runs, and was subsequently named to the Midstate Athletic Conference first team.
A 2015 Mohawk Valley Community college commit, Taylor will play on the men's collegiate baseball team this fall. "He's worked hard and has played 50 to 60 baseball games each year since he was 15," said UV varsity baseball coach, Eileen Lawyer. "He plays on two teams each summer and fall. He loves the game, so this is well-deserved recognition."
