Woman hospitalized following two-vehicle MVC in N. Norwich
NORTH NORWICH – A local woman suffered critical injuries after a two-car crash in the Town of North Norwich according to State Police.
The incident happened on Bryant Road, east of State highway 12 over the weekend.
County Dispatch records indicate that a 911 call was received at about 9:40 a.m. involving a two vehicle MVC with injuries and entrapment.
First responders from North Norwich Fire Company extricated the female victim, and upon assessment requested LifeNet transport to SUNY Upstate Medical Center due to critical injuries sustained. The City of Norwich ambulance transported the victim from the scene to a landing zone that was established by Sherburne Fire Department on Classic Street in the Village of Sherburne.
Family members of the victim say that she was on her way to a hair appointment as she was to be married later Saturday. It was also stated that the victim was in a coma for a brief period, but is now reported to be in stable condition and recovering at SUNY Upstate.
Authorities have indicated that the second party driver was not injured, and that the accident is still under investigation. It was unknown wither or not any tickets were issued as of press time.
