Wednesday event to teach the value of nutrition

NORWICH – East Park in Norwich is the place to be on Wednesday, July 22.
Eat Smart NY, The Family Enrichment Network, Guernsey Memorial Library and Vital Vittles are teaming up to sponsor the “MyPlate Scavenger Hunt” from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Guernsey Library will have a seed planting and transplanting activity to demonstrate the different stages of growing vegetables. The planted veggies will then be transported to the library where children can watch the growth of the vegetables throughout the summer and eat the "fruits" of their labor in the fall.
Other activities include a coloring contest being judged by the Artists’ Palette, face painting, live animals, and information about local food and good health. For further information, call 334-4928 or email vitalvittles@frontier.com.
