Naloxone, used to reverse opioid overdose,  administered Tuesday morning

NORWICH – Shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, a medical emergency call was placed to Chenango County Dispatch indicating that an individual was unconscious on the city's west side.

The City of Norwich Fire Department responded to 58 West Main St. within minutes; finding an unconscious male who had apparently suffered from an opiate overdose upon arrival.

Shortly after arrival to the scene, first responders requested assistance from the Norwich Police Department, who dispatched two patrol vehicles to the scene.
