State police start crackdown on speeding
CHENANGO COUNTY – Speeders beware. New York State Police will be out in full force this week in a statewide crackdown to slow down speeders and aggressive drivers.
The week-long enforcement initiative began Wednesday and will continue through Aug. 11.
Blamed for causing 352 deaths and nearly 19,000 injuries in speed-related crashes in New York State in 2013, speeding is a contributing factor in nearly one-third of all fatal accidents statewide.
