All you can eat Ice Cream Social
SMYRNA – The Smyrna Public Library and its board of trustees are proud to sponsor another year of their community Ice Cream Social event, this will the 16th year running the event.
On Monday August 17 at 6:30 p.m., after the band concerts in the park, the Smyrna Fire Department will host the event at their Firehouse located on Main Street in Smyrna, New York.
“We really couldn’t do it without the firemen, they help so much with letting us use their building and also helping us set up tables, as well as much much more,” said Sharon Carain, President of the Smyrna Library Board.
The event will be $2 per person and will be an all you can eat Ice Cream Social. There will be various homemade cakes and other deserts accompanied by ice cream.
With an average estimated number of 250 to 300 people who come to the community event in support of the Smyrna Public Library and Smyrna Fire Department, Carain expressed her satisfaction with the previous turnouts but mentioned, “We want to get the word out there so more people come out and enjoy this great event for our small community.”
“If it is nice weather then we’ll be outside set up on tables in front of the firehouse with the deserts inside. If not we’ll be inside the firehouse,” said Carain.
