Sherburne-Earlville field hockey drops to Morrisville-Eaton

SHERBURNE - In a game last night, Tuesday, September, 22, the Sherburne-Earlville girls’ varsity field hockey team hosted Morrisville-Eaton. S-E would ultimately fall to the visiting team, 5-1.
In the first half Morrisville-Eaton came out strong and didn’t let up, scoring their first two goals within minutes of each other. Kady Warner scored the first with 16:30 left to go, making the score 1-0. Just a few minutes later Shelby Villnave took a pass from Robyn Latham and snuck one past the S-E defense and in for the second goal of the game.
The second half went much like the first for Morrisville-Eaton, scoring three more goals. Alyssa Smalley got it started for Morrisville-Eaton, scoring off of another Latham assist. S-E’s lone goal of the game was scored by Alanna Stumpf. Stumpf weaved her way past the Morrisvile-Eaton defense and in for the score with 11:30 left in the game, making the score now 3-1.
Morrisville-Eaton would go on to score two more goals in the game, giving the contest its final score of 5-1. The Marauder girls are now 1-6 overall and will continue their season tomorrow, Thursday, September, 24, when they host Sauquoit Valley.
