Local Oxford teen will compete in the 2015 Miss Teen pageant

BINGHAMTON – Kayla Wood, 19, of Oxford was recently selected to participate in the 2015 Miss Teen pageant competition, which will take place on Sunday October 11, 2015.
Kayla is a recent graduate of Oxford High School, graduating in 2014.
Wood had submitted an application prior to acceptance, and was asked to take part in an interview session that was conducted by this year's Binghamton Pageant Coordinator.
Wood learned of her acceptance into this year's competition after the pageant announced their selections following the interviewing process which took place in the Binghamton area.
Wood will be competing in the Miss Teen division, one of four divisions that will have young ladies ranging from age 7 to 19, competing in modeling routines, which include Casual Wear and Formal Wear. Personality will be on display as well as interviewing skills, as Wood will be interviewing with this year's judging panel.
It is noted that personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of this competition.
Not only will Wood will be competing for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to the contestants at the semi-local level. If she were to win the title of Miss Teen, she would represent the entire Binghamton area at the National Competition that will take place in Orlando, Florida.
This national competition will feature girls from all over the country as well as over $30,000 in prizes and awards, with each winner enjoying an expense paid trip of five nights and six days in Orlando.
Community businesses, organizations, and private individuals are asked to help assist Kayla in participating in this year's competition by becoming an official sponsor to her.
“Through sponsorship, each contestant receives all the necessary training, rehearsals, and financial support which will allow Wood to become a very confident and well-prepared contestant in this year's pageant,” read a press release.
Any business, organization, or private individual who may be interested in becoming a sponsor for Kayla may contact the Miss Teen pageant coordinator, at 1-877-403-6678.
