NORWICH – William H. Danielson, 49, of Oxford was charged with the Dec. 27, 2013 murder of Lucinda Knoll.

Danielson chose to take his case to trial in Chenango County Court. Danielson has pled not-guilty to all his charges thus far.

After health complications which caused a previous attorney to step down, Danielson retained his new attorney, Peter DeLucia. DeLucia remains Danielson's attorney to date.

County District Attorney Joseph A. McBride appeared on behalf of the people on this matter.

The original trial date was set for July 2015, but unknown reasons have pushed the trial start date back.

“All the pre-trial proceedings are done, and the prosecution is ready to move forward. I expect the trial to last about two weeks at least,” said McBride prior to the start of proceedings.

On Monday, Sept. 28 2015, the murder trial and jury selection for Danielson began promptly at 9:30 a.m.

By 11:50 a.m., there were still no jurors selected to serve. Court was adjourned for a lunch recess and everyone was to report back at 1 p.m. to resume the proceedings.

Court was back in session at 1 p.m. and by 4 p.m., seven of the needed 12 jurors and four alternates were selected.
