Two car motor vehicle accident in Town of Oxford

OXFORD – Emergency personnel from Oxford responded to the scene of a reported two-vehicle MVC along a stretch of County Highway 32 just south of Lyon Brook Road, Wednesday morning.
Fire police slowed morning commuter traffic to one lane around a disabled vehicle while State Troopers documented the incident, and Cooperstown Medical Transport was likewise summoned to treat at least one of the motorists for non life-threatening treatment on scene.
At approximately 7:45 a.m., county dispatch received the call and toned out to Oxford Fire according to scanner reports.
According to first responders on scene, a motorist operating a one-ton utility vehicle owned by Rentals-to-Go of Norwich was in the process of making a left turn into a business, yielding right-of-way to oncoming northbound traffic. A second motorist traveling behind the truck operating a silver four-door Chevrolet Tracker SUV failed to stop colliding with the first vehicle causing extensive damage and deploying air bags of the small SUV.
It is unknown wether either of the drivers were ticketed.
