Norwich football falls to Windsor 26-19

WINDSOR - On Friday, October 23, the Norwich Purple Tornado traveled to Windsor to compete against the Black Knights. Windsor would walk away as the victor 26-19 after four long hard fought quarters for both teams.
Norwich got the scoring started in the first quarter after a 13 yard run by Drew Walsh. Since beginning his varsity career, Walsh has been a huge asset for the Purple Tornado at running back.
Now up 7-0 going into the second quarter, the Norwich defense held on to their lead until 1:04 left in the half as Windsor quarterback Trevor Kimble completed a 15 yard touchdown pass to Jordan Haven. As the two point conversion was no good, Norwich was up 7-6 going into half time.
The next score came with 5:10 left in the third quarter as Norwich's Cole Rifanburg completed a pass to Cameron Edwards for 16 yards to give the game a 13-6 score.
to start off the fourth quarter Windsor would go on a 20 point run, scoring three touchdowns, two on offense and one on an interception return.
Down 26-13 Norwich's comeback was too little too late after a late TD by a Rifanburg pass to Edwards for six to give the game its final score of 26-19 in favor of Windsor.

Bainbridge-Guilford

MORRISVILLE - Playing against Morrisville-Eaton on Friday, October 23, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats won on the road 40-22.
B-G was lead by quarterback Austin Carr who finished the night with 220 rushing yards, 47 passing yards, and four touchdowns. Carr and the Bobcats struck first in the first quarter after a long drive where Carr punched in a one yard run for the touchdown. With the two point conversion B-G was now up 8-0 on M-E.
In the second quarter Spenser Stevens scored for B-G on a 12 yard run to increase his teams lead to 14-0. Just a few minutes later Morrisville-Eaton cut the lead on a 21 yard score. B-G would match it with time running out in the first half and with just 13 seconds left Carr scored his second of the night on a three yard run. Going into the locker room B-G was now up 22-6.
The third half was much of the same for both teams as B-G would strike first off of a 1 yard run from Carr. Sidney would answer just a few minutes later to bring the score to 26-16 at the end of the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter B-G scored twice, once off of a Carr rush and again from a Carr pass to Austin Capulupo to give B-G its final point total of 40. Morrisville-Eaton would also score again in the fourth quarter to end their team’s scoring with 22. Capulupo’s touchdown would be the final score of the game and would give the game its final of 40-22 B-G.

Oxford

TIOGA - Traveling to Tioga for the second week in a row, the Oxford Blackhawks would face last week’s opponent for their first play off game. The game would end in a 58-28 win for Tioga.
The game stayed close throughout the first quarter as Oxford’s Angelo Gonzalez threw a 38 yard pass to Trent Lyons for a touchdown. After the PAT attempt was no good, Oxford would be down to Tioga 7-6 going into the second quarter.
The Blackhawks scored once more on a one yard run by Gonzalez in the second, but would let up 31 points to Tioga’s dominant offense. Going into the locker room the score was 38-14 in favor of the home team.
Scoring once more in the third quarter, Oxford’s Xavier Cruz took the ball in from seven yards out for six more points. Nick Neer would tack on two more after the two-point conversion was good and Oxford now had 22 to Tioga’s 50 at the end of the third.
Cruz scored his second of the night on an eight yard run in the fourth to give his team their final score of 28 in the fourth quarter. Tioga would cap off their night with one more touchdown to give the game a final of 58-28. “Playing Tioga on back to back weeks was not an easy task,” said Oxford coach Jeff Newton. “They were a very well disciplined team and our kids fought hard and played hard to the end.”
