Spooky Halloween fun for young and old at the Oxford Library

OXFORD – The Oxford Memorial Library is pleased to announce the return of its annual Kids Halloween Party from 9:30 – 1 p.m. Saturday, October 31, Halloween day. During the early hours of Halloween celebrations, younger children are invited to follow the spooky stairs where snacks and drinks will be devoured, games and activities will be played and treat sure to make any dentist scream bags will be given out. Of course, costumes are welcome but not required.
Then, when the sun goes down come experience the dark side of the Oxford Memorial Library; not recommended for the faint-at-heart from 5 – 8 p.m.
A guided tour will lead you through the library while sharing eerie stories of the past – like what used to happen to people who didn’t return books or pay a fine. Some of the ghosts that call the library home have been known to come to life on Halloween night, wanting to play.
The entrance to the tour is in the back of the building; and the exit—if you dare—will be a walk through one of the most frightening mazes this side of the Chenango River, and those brave enough to male it through will be rewarded with a treat bag.
Admission for the Haunted House is a donation all proceeds help fund Oxford Memorial Library programs. Sounds like a ghostly good time, so bring your friends and enjoy the fun.
