Oxford native named collegiate “Athlete of the Week”
COBLESKILL - On Monday, October 26 the SUNY Cobleskill Department of Sport and Exercise announced that junior Megan Golden of Oxford, a member of the women’s soccer team has been named the athletic program’s Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week.
The junior midfielder scored a pair of goals including the eventual game winner in the team’s 3-2 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) road win over the host Bison of Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, October 24. The victory snapped a six-game Fighting Tiger losing streak.
On the season the Oxford native has scored four goals in 15 appearances for eight points on the season.
The Fighting Tigers, who are currently 3-12 overall on the season with a 3-7 mark in NEAC contests, will next be in action on Friday, October 30 when they host the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College in league action.
