Norwich cross country runner qualifies for state meet

CHENANGO VALLEY - On Thursday, November 5, the Norwich boys Cross Country team competed in their sectional tournament. One runner, Ben Ericksen qualified for the NY State Championship Meet on November 14, at Monroe Woodbury high school.
Ericksen finished tenth overall and ran the course in an impressive 17:48. Ericksen’s time was good enough to earn him a spot in the New York State Championships next Saturday, November 14. Finishing in just behind Ericksen was Marcus Cahsman who placed 11th and ran a 17:57. Also competing for the Purple Tornado were Noah Bufalini, Connor Nichols, John Matlack-Grey, Stanton Baker, Zayn Harper, and Kody Harrison.
Norwich would finish fifth overall as a team.
Individual results: Norwich; Ben Ericksen, 10, 17:48. Marcus Cashman, 11, 17:57. Noah Bufalini, 33, 19:30. Connor Nichols, 43, 19:48. John Matlack-Grey, 68, 21:24. Stanton Baker, 76, 21:51. Zayn Harper, 77, 22:17. Kody Harrison, 80, 23:09.
