New York: A collage of history

ONEONTA – The Greater Oneonta Historical Society is presenting a special program in observance of November being New York History Month.
On Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m., the Oneonta History Center, 183 Main St., will host Susan Goodier, PhD, who will present “New York: A Collage of History,” highlighting events from the rich history of the state.
Goodier specializes in New York State history and women’s history and is a lecturer in the department of history at SUNY Oneonta. Her doctorate is in Public Policy History from the University at Albany, and she is Book Review Editor for the New York History journal.
Goodier is also a Public Scholar for the New York Council for the Humanities. Her current project is a book on the New York State womens’ suffrage movement, with publication expected in 2017 – the centennial of women voting in New York.
The event is free and open to the public. The History Center will be open 6-9 p.m. on Nov. 18. For more information, contact 607-432-0960 or info@OneontaHistory.org.
