G-MU reveals results of $3.5 million spending vote

MOUNT UPTON—Officials at Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Central have made public the results of a special $3.5 million building project that was placed before the district’s voters on Tuesday.

According to District Superintendent Annette Hammond, the spending plan was passed by voters by a tally of 125-23.

“The result of Tuesday's vote is a real testament to our community’s support of the district, and we're especially thankful for that, foremost,” said Hammond.

The $3.5 million spending plan will make several updates to the aging facility. In addition to energy efficient components, overall safety and security for both students and faculty was of utmost importance.
