Local painter featured after lengthy absence
OXFORD – A new artist’s work will line the walls of 6 on the Square for the next few months.
This Wednesday, Tom Gorman of McDonough will make his first appearance at an art gallery in several decades.
“Tom Gorman – he is like the artist no one can get any pieces from. He's awesome, but just hasn't done anything in a long time; so this is exciting,” said Dustin Warburton, McDonough native, author, and friend of Tom Gorman.
Gorman will have his art featured at 6 on the Square starting Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.. Art will be on display until late February.
“We kind of find our artists by picking the brain of our previous artist for anyone they may know who has artwork. It just so happened that his daughter-in-law was the previous artist and said ‘Tom has fabulous art and he needs to put his stuff up.’ And that’s usually the case. These artists exist, but just don't come forward,” said Kim Begeal, Art Gallery Director at 6 on the Square.
