Fire crews from nine area fire companies responded to 2909 State Highway 12 in the Town of Brisben at 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning for a reported structure fire.

Chenango County Dispatch was alerted by a passerby motorist of smoke and flames coming from the structure, and mutual aid request from Brisben, Coventry, Greene, Guilford, Oxford and Smithville all responded and were on the scene within minutes.

Additional assistance by way of standby units were utilized from City of Norwich and the Town of Willet Fire.
