A two-vehicle motor vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer and a small passenger car shut down State Highway 12 for approximately an hour Wednesday morning.

The roadway was closed by fire police between Hale Street-South Broad Street intersection and the State Highway 12-Halfway House Bridge Road junction shortly before 10 a.m.

While the truck sustained only minor damage, the passenger vehicle – a late model silver Ford Focus – was completely destroyed.
