Blue Devils prove to be too much for the Marauders

SHERBURNE – Sherburne played host to Camden Central high school in what is scheduled as the Marauders last home meet of the season.

The last meet of the season did not go as planned for S-E, who found themselves in a 26-6 hole before they could secure their first win on the night, not including forfeits.

“The kids didn’t have a real good outing; they were a little flat tonight,” said Bim Palmer Sherburne Wrestling Head Coach.

After no match at the 99-pound weight class the meet began at 106 with a forfeit, however the first official win for the Marauders came at the 152-pound weight class where S-E’s Hunter Owen locked up a pin in the first period of his match, giving S-E 12 on the night to Camden’s 26.

The Blue Devils would proceed to win the next four matches on the evening bringing the team score to a commanding 41-12.

This four match run would not come easily for Camden due to the S-E’s 170-pound wrestler Darren Knapp putting up the closest match of the night. Knapp would carry the matchup between himself and JP Musachio into the third period with a tied score of 5-5. Knapp would subsequently lose this bout at 9-6, despite the tough effort.
