Undefeated Bears continue pinning ways
UNADILLA VALLEY – The BGAH wrestling team continued their fantastic run of form last night as they easily took care of fellow Chenango County school Unadilla Valley, 66-21.
Coming off of a 52-25 win against Union-Endicott on Monday night, BGAH started just where they left off.
Last night’s match began with a win by forfeit for Dylan Decker of BGAH at the 99-pound weight class. The Bears would also win the next match by forfeit, at the 106-pound weight class before UV put their first points on the board. Morgan Lakin defeated Austin Eggelston 8-4 at the 113-pound weight division.
Forfeits were the story of the night for UV. BGAH won nine out of 15 weight classes on forfeits. UV recorded one pin on the night, with Caleb Simmons pinning Kaleb DeShaw at the 126-pound weight class, while their opponents logged two pins. Bradley Wilson pinned Dwight Cook after one minute and 45 seconds in the 182-pound weight class and at 220, Dylan Mondore pinned Kurtis Wilson after 2:26.
The Bears remain undefeated on the season, and now stand at 10-0. They look very strong and formidable opponents going into the Section 4 Dual Meet Championship in Vestal this Friday and Saturday.
For the Storm, things don’t look as promising. They go into their next meet, again against another Chenango County school, the Greene Trojans, looking to improve upon their 1-4 record for the season. That Dual meet will take place in Greene next Thursday, Jan. 28. It is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
