NEWARK VALLEY – A Bainbridge man was pronounced dead at the scene of a reported one vehicle MVC in the Town of Newark Valley Tuesday afternoon.

According to Tioga County Sheriff's deputies, Richard J. Henry, a 60-year-old commercial truck operator from Bainbridge, was hit by a truck that he had been operating for his employer, Coventry Transport of Coventry.

Police reports indicate that Henry had exited the vehicle at Dalton Hill Road a mile east of Wilson Creek Road after losing control of the tractor-trailer. Authorities said it’s unclear whether or not Tuesday’s icy road conditions were a factor in the incident.
