Youth Wrestlers qualify for States

Two youth wrestlers recently qualified this past Sunday, March 6, In Tioga Center for the NYWAY Youth Wrestling State Championships. Braden Hagenbuch, age 9, wrestled in the Southern Tier Division II, at 70-pounds and took home a second place finish. While Maverick Beckwith, age 6, wrestled in the Southern Tier Division I, at 55-pounds and took home a first place finish. Top four place winners in the regional round move on to the NYWAY State championships that will begin this coming Saturday, March 12, at the SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College. “Us as their coaches are very proud that they have worked hard this season, hopefully all goes right and both will get first in states this Saturday,” said Coach Kurt Bradbury. Hagenbuch and Beckwith’s coaches are Kurt Bradbury and Dave Schuster.
