Greene’s Sherwood Hotel reveals new management

GREENE – The Sherwood Hotel and The Dunlap family are proud to announce a new partnership with Hospitality Concepts Group, a hospitality management group from Hamilton, NY. This partnership marks a new chapter for the Sherwood Hotel and promises to bring exciting changes to the hotel.
The Sherwood Hotel, family owned by Greene locals Don and Mary Dunlap, and DJ and Amanda Dunlap, underwent extensive renovations in 2013 to revive the historic inn. Hospitality Concepts Group is led by seasoned operator William (Ben) Eberhardt III. Eberhardt has been operating Central New York hospitality properties for over 10 years and ultimately founded Hospitality Concepts Group. The company boasts a dynamic leadership team and top notch staff which Eberhardt credits for success. Hospitality Concepts Group works primarily with classic, boutique and historic properties, making the partnership with the Sherwood Hotel a perfect fit.
In addition to the Sherwood Hotel, the company manages the Colgate Inn and No. 10 Tavern in Hamilton, the Gould Hotel in Seneca Falls and the Red Mill Inn in Baldwinsville.
The Sherwood, built in 1913, has been a beautiful cornerstone in Greene for generations. The historic building has a colorful past dating back over 100 years when it was opened as a country inn. In 2012 the hotel was purchased by the Dunlap’s after being vacant for over a year. The new owners set out to revive the historic building that had fallen into disrepair. The hotel underwent a complete renovation and now boasts twenty updated hotel rooms including a balcony suite and a bridal suite with whirlpool tub.
The hotel also features a dining room, tap room and event space for weddings and banquets.
The Dunlap’s have contracted with Hospitality Concepts Group to take over management of the Sherwood Hotel on March 1.
“The Sherwood Hotel will remain a local, family owned business. We are thrilled to be working together with Hospitality Concepts Group to expand the offerings of the hotel and to build on the years of tradition and superb hospitality that the hotel is known for,” said owner Amanda Dunlap.
The restaurants at the Sherwood Hotel will be open for dining beginning in late March. Both the Dining Room and Tap Room will feature fresh new menus focusing on locally sourced ingredients.
Upcoming special events at the hotel include Easter Brunch, Murder Mystery Dinner with overnight package available, Mother’s Day Brunch and a great line-up of entertainment including The Jason Wicks Band on April 1 and 22.
