Traffic stop yields drug arrests
GREENE – This past Friday, March 11, The Village of Greene Police Department arrested three individuals on narcotic drug related charges.
Clifton J. Brooks, 49, of Binghamton was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled record in the fifth degree; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree; and the felony of tampering with physical evidence.
Following said traffic stop by the Village of Greene Police, and while in custody, Brooks is said to have attempted to destroy plastic bags containing cocaine and heroin that he allegedly had on his person.
Brooks was arraigned in the Village of Greene Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail.
The two other individuals in the vehicle during the traffic stop were said to have been Austin B. Hutchins, 21, of Sherburne; and Brock A. Strozier, 34, of Sherburne.
Both Hutchins and Strozier were charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument after they both were allegedly found to be in possession of hypodermic needles at the time of the stop.
Hutchins and Stozier were both issued appearance tickets to return to the Village of Greene Court at a later date.
