NORWICH – On the weekend of Feb. 20, the Norwich swimming team competed in the Section 4, class B Championships. The Purple Tornado brought five swimmers to contend against eight other teams.
During the trials for the main event, which were held earlier, on Feb. 17, the five swimmers broke eight of 10 personal records, with both relay teams improving on their original seeding times.
In the main competition on Saturday, the Purple Tornado placed four out of the five swimmers. Although no personal bests were recorded, Norwich still finished in seventh place, ahead of Susquehanna Valley. That is a major accomplishment with the school bringing just five swimmers to participate.

200 Meter Medley Relay: Fifth place; Jacob Shoemaker, Ethan Lestico, Bruce Winter, Dan Zieno.
400 Meter Medley Relay: Sixth place; Ethan Lestico, Conner Supensky, Bruce Winter, Dan Zieno.
