Norwich churches observe Holy Week

NORWICH – The congregations of Broad St. United Methodist, First Baptist, and the United Church of Christ, First Congregational Churches will join together to observe holy week services.
On Maundy Thursday, March 24 at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church (10 W. Park Place), the churches will remember Jesus' last meal with his disciples as congregates celebrate a special service of holy communion.
On Good Friday, March 25 at 7 p.m. at Broad St. United Methodist (74 N. Broad St.), the churches will relive the story of Jesus' death through the eyes of six people who had front-row seats in this incredible drama. The service will include dramatic readings, special music, and opportunities to participate in the story and the service with words, prayers, and actions.
On Easter Sunday, several churches will participate in a Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. in West Park, in front of the county courthouse building. Rev. Ernie Varga of Christ Lutheran Church will share the message. A breakfast will follow at First Baptist Church.
