STAC names 2015-2016 Basketball All-Stars

NORWICH – The 2015-2016 season for the Purple Tornado brought great success to the basketball court for both the boys and girls.
Although both fell slightly short of their team goals of a state championship, both the boys and girls teams can walk away with some major accomplishments under their belts.
The Purple Tornado saw their boys basketball team dominate on the court all season only losing one game in the regular season to Jamesville-Dewitt. This line of success the boys saw had them not only winning games but championships including a division championship as well as they notching out a STAC championship for the third year in a row, all en route to a fan thrilling comeback with for a Section IV title and earning them a state playoff appearance.
Due to their outstanding play all season long, Norwich's Carlos Ithier and Jamison Luke were named to the STAC All-Conference team.
Along with Ithier and Luke, Norwich saw three other members of their squad, Jordan Vinal, Chris Jeffery, and
Tre Bonham, earn the STAC All-Division honors.
On the women's side of the court, The lady Tornado grinded their whole season, truly earning each win they were awarded. Although the girls fell short of the Section IV and STAC titles on the year, their truly outstanding play earned them a Division Title in the STAC East division as they claimed a final record of 14-6.
This success on the court saw three true standouts for the Tornado earn post season accolades.
Megan Komenearak was named to the STAC All-Conference team, while her fellow teammates Shelby Benjamin, and Mackenzie Maynard earned STAC All-Division honors in the East Division.
