Oxford Memorial a buzz with activities in April
OXFORD – With the upcoming spring recess quickly approaching, the Oxford Memorial Library will be showing movies and offering a number of activities to keep teens engaged throughout the duration of vacation week. All movies and activities will begin at 2 p.m. and are scheduled as follows:
• Monday, April 25: The 5th Wave.
• Tuesday, April 26: 4-H presents Fun with Science.
• Wednesday, April 27: Jurassic World.
• Thursday, April 28: Games Day at the library.
• Friday, April 29: Goosebumps.
Also, be sure to check out OML's Family Night Programs. On Thursday, April 28 beginning at 6:30 p.m. a Mother's Day Craft with Kris will be held in the community room. Slated for Thursday,May 5 at 6:30 p.m.; families are invited to come an build a “Fairy House” with Jessica.
If that weren't enough, beginning Fri., April 15 the Library will be featuring a Typewriter Exhibit by typewriter collector and enthusiast Brian Drake.
Come in and check out some early typewriters from his vast collection. Drake will even bring along a unique contraption that writes music. The exhibit will be on display until the middle of May. On Saturday, May 14 from 12–4 p.m. Brian will host a “Type-In” in the CYSR of the Oxford Memorial Library, first of its kind in Chenango County. There will be many typewriters set up for participants to use. He will have some speed typing contests, door prizes, as well as chance for participants to win a Smith-Corona Super Sterling portable typewriter.
