DELHI – The Oxford varsity baseball now sits at a nice 5-2 record after knocking off Delhi 4-2 last Tuesday April 19, when they traveled to Delhi.

Jon Heggie rained supreme in the game at the bat as he finished the night going 3-4 with an RBI.

“Jon(Heggie) hit the ball really well, obviously going 3-4 with an RBI in the seventh for an insurance run,” explained Oxford head coach Chris Palmer.

Despite Heggie's great at bats it was the defense and pitching on the evening that really kept Oxford in the game, which ultimately allowed the late win.

“We had no errors in the field. Dylan (Depew) had eight strikeouts and no walks, he did everything we would ask from him, and he worked himself out of a few jams in the middle. He did a really nice job then Austin (Crawford) came in and closed it out for us,” said Palmer.

It was Dylan Depew on the mound for the Blackhawks, much like Palmer attested Depew fended off Delhi throughout the game, blanking their batters in the first, third, fourth and sixth innings.

It was Oxford's Nick Neer who helped them jump out to the early 2-0 lead in the second when he knocked a triple in to send two men home.
