WATERVILLE –A 12 run sixth inning ensured a comfortable margin of victory for the Sherburne-Earlville varsity baseball team against Waterville last Tuesday, Apr. 19.
The star of the day for the Marauders was Aaron Price. He did it all, from pitching a complete game, to going four for six at the plate, with a double and three runs batted in. Along with Price’s heroics at bat, Ian Fleming also excelled, going three for five on the day, with a double and two RBI’s and Ethan French contributed two hits, including a triple.
S-E head coach Jay Tackabury was very pleased with his side’s efforts, saying, “Aaron Price went the distance tonight. He had good control and really threw a good all round game. Our bats woke up as well as our defense. I've kept on my players about playing a complete game and tonight they finally did that.”
The Marauders will be aiming to continue their winning ways when they venture to Holland-Patent next Friday, Apr. 22. First pitch in that matchup is listed at 4:30 p.m.
