Over the course of the last 20 weeks bowlers from HI-Skore Lanes in Earlville tried qualifying for several different tournaments. Five S-E athletes qualified for the NY State Scholarship Finals that took place in Schenectady, New York this last weekend. For the under fourth grade group it was Darren Miles, the 5-8 grade group had Josie Parker and Nicholas Fontaine, and for the 9-12 grade group it was Jordan Paul and Zach Miles. To have five different bowlers, all from the same school district and bowling alley is a huge accomplishment. There were more than 4,000 bowlers that competed from all over the state for this tournament. The younger division saw Nicholas Fontaine finish twelfth; while Josie Parker finished eighth and Darren Miles in first as a NY State Champion. Darren Miles also was the Pepsi Cola™ champion for under 10 boys and Josie Parker placed second for under 10 girls.
