BG Tennis posts undefeated season winning MAC league title

BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford varsity Tennis team completed their sweep of the MAC League when they hosted Oxford on May 9, winning 3-2.
At first singles BG's Ben Gabriel Gonzalez got things started with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Oxford's Francisco Quintana.
Oxford would score some revenge on the day taking the next two singles spots; as Josh Nelson defeated Nate Hager at second singles 6-3 and 6-3, while his teammate Fletcher Nisbet would earn the win over BG's Will Nowak at 6-4, 6-4 in third singles.
It was the double match ups that helped BG ultimately secure their undefeated run, as they both in straight sets.
Spenser Stevens and Thomas Petrutoni started it off in first doubles beating the Oxford duo of Jason Davis and Gavin Wheatley at 6-4, 6-4.
And it was Jared Pruskowski and Dadeon Canfield who closed out the team win for BG defeating Megan Smith and Alyssa Hadge at 6-1 and 6-0.
Both BG (6-0) and Oxford (4-4) will now prepare for post-season play.
