County renews lease agreement with Plane Leather

NORWICH – County officials have extended a lease agreement with Plane Leather, an FAA approved mobile 145 interior repair shop, to continue operations at the Lt. Warren E. Eaton Airport in Norwich.
The agreement was unanimously adopted by members of the County Board of Supervisors at their regular meeting held earlier this month. The lease, which takes effect July 1, will allow Plane Leather to remain in a hangar at the county-owned airport through June 30, 2019.
Plane Leather previously signed a three-year lease with the county for space which expires at the end of June. But company spokesmen say the business has really taken off since that deal was put into place.
Plane Leather also requested to lease approximately one-half of the jet hangar for additional space for aircraft maintenance and repair. County officials authorized that $400 per month lease by a separate resolution amending the original lease. The county will charge Plane Leather an additional $25 per day for heat.
Should the jet hangar ever be needed to base a large aircraft, Plane Leather has agreed that it will forfeit their additional space.
Plane Leather prides itself on providing mobility that enables customers to have their interior work done at their facility, or in conjunction with scheduled maintenance, which the company says has helped broadened its customer base by reducing time and additional expenses for their clients.
