Elmira man arrested in Norwich, charged with possession of crack cocaine

NORWICH – Mario M. Hentz, 37, of Elmira, was arrested by the Norwich Police Department on June 15 for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor; unlawful possession of marijuana; and false personation, a class B misdemeanor.
According to authorities, Hentz was found to be in possession of a plastic bag containing crack cocaine and a rolled cigarette containing marijuana. Hentz also allegedly gave a false name to the investigating officer several times.
The suspect was arraigned in Norwich City Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility. Norwich Police K9 Nitro aided in the investigation.
Hentz was arrested in Bath back in June, 2013, and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, having an open alcoholic beverage in the vehicle, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree (a class D felony).
Hentz is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
