YMCA announces summer kids' clubs
NORWICH – The Norwich YMCA is proud to announce a new summer program, as well as the return and continuation of another program for the youth of our community.
The summer of 2016 will mark the sixth consecutive year the YMCA has held their 'Kids’ Club' program. Kids’ Club is a pre-school program for children ages three to five.
The program will run off a weekly theme and will have all the children involved in creative activities such as art projects, games, stories, snacks, food crafts, swimming, and library trips, as well as much more.
The program runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., and will start on June 27, until August 12.
All children in wishing to be enrolled in this program must be three years old by July 1, and toilet trained.
This year, along with the continuation of Kids Club, the YMCA will be unveiling its first year of 'The Big Kids Club'. This new summer program will encompass school aged children from first grade through third grade.
The YMCA is proud to offer this alternative to a summer camp, at a centrally located location and invites all to attend.
The Big Kids’ Club will be offered three afternoons a week– Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m.– starting on June 27, and running through August 19.
Children in this new “high quality, fun summer experience” will participate in activities much as the pre-school aged children will, with a weekly theme throughout the duration of the program.
The program will be run by Gabby Testani, a Norwich high school graduate in 2010. Testani is currently seeking her Masters degree and will now have three years under her belt as a summer director. Testani will be assisted in running the programs by Salli Frank, who also brings to the table many years of experience with working with children.
