Man sentenced to three years in state prison for criminal sexual acts
NORWICH – The Chenango County Court convened for a morning session on Monday, June 27, where the case of Christopher A. Jennings, 33, of Bainbridge, was heard.
Assistant District Attorney Laura Parker represented the people of Chenango County in the matter, while Defense Attorney Michael Trosset represented the defendant. The Honorable Judge Frank B. Revoir Jr. presided over the proceedings.
It was alleged that on or about March 14, 2015, at a West Main Street residence in the Village of Bainbridge, Jennings did engage in manual sexual conduct, oral sexual conduct and sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old victim.
On March 18, 2015, Jennings was indicted on the charges of rape in the first degree, a class B felony; criminal sexual act in the first degree, a class B felony; incest in the first degree, a class B felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
In a plea deal with the District Attorney, Jennings agreed to enter a plea of guilty to a reduced second count, the lesser charge of criminal sexual act in the second degree, a class D felony.
As of now, Jennings was sentenced to three years in the New York State Department of Corrections, followed by three years post-release supervision. An order of protection was issued for the victim. Judge Revoir elected to adjourn official sentencing until August 19, at 9:30 a.m.
A written waiver of appeal was signed by Jennings at the conclusion of proceedings.
