Police release names of victims of fatal motorcycle crash
PRESTON – Police have released the names of the two individuals who were killed in a motorcycle accident on County Road 10A in the Town of Preston on Sunday, July 3.
Stephen Carpenter, 38, of Guilford, and Katelynn Coville, 30, of Guilford, died at the scene when the driver of the motorcycle, Carpenter, lost control and slid into a guardrail.
County Road 10A was closed for approximately four and a half hours while the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit completed a crash reconstruction.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted at the scene by the Norwich Fire Department and the Chenango County Highway Department.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
