Binghamton woman arrested on felony DWI charge
OXFORD - On July 4, The village of Oxford Police Department arrested Livia L. Gomat, 37, of Binghamton, on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor; operating a motor vehicle with greater than .08 of 1 percent alcohol, a class A misdemeanor; felony aggravated DWI for having a child in the vehicle under Leandra's Law; aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor; speeding; and inadequate muffler.
The defendant's BAC was allegedly determined to be .09 percent. Gomat was additionally stopped for speeding at 52 in the 30 mph zone.
Gomat was arraigned and remanded to the custody of the Chenango County Correctional Facility, in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $5,000 property bond. Gomat is scheduled to appear in the village of Oxford Court for the Felony hearing on July 7.
