NORWICH – A 30-year-old man sits at the local jail held on $25,000 cash bail after having been charged with child sex crimes.

Members of the Norwich Police Department arrested Nathan P. Fairchild of 23 Cortland Street in Norwich on July 7.

Fairchild was charged with sexual abuse in the first degree, a class D felony; promoting obscene sexual performance by a child, a class D felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.

It is alleged that Fairchild subjected another person to sexual contact and did so when the other person was less than 11 years old.
