Man caught with drugs, gun; charged with four felonies
OXFORD – Timothy J. Reid, 32, of Binghamton, was arrested by the New York State Police at Norwich following a traffic stop for speeding on State Route 12, in the Town of Oxford, on July 19.
According to a press release from the New York State Police, upon further investigation, Reid was found to be driving with an open alcohol container and was in possession of a loaded handgun, methamphetamine, ecstasy, cocaine, LSD, psilocin mushrooms, oxycodone, diazepam, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and fireworks.
Reid was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree, a class C felony. He was arraigned in the Town of Guilford court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility, in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 property bond.
New York State Police say that Reid has since been additionally charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a class A-II felony; one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony; one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony; four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misedemeanor; one count of criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, a class B misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of fireworks.
Reid's felony hearing is scheduled to be at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 25, in the Village of Oxford Court.
