COVENTRYVILLE – For more than 100 year, the Girl Scouts has helped young women foster creativity, love of nature, and leadership skills as they develop lifelong friendships through bonds of the mind, body, and heart.

These young women have created countless community service and building projects over the years. Working in partnership with other organizations – including fire departments, USO, the U.S. military, senior citizen agencies, and food banks – they also play a vital role in responding to disasters and emergencies by helping those in need.

Starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, the Coventryville Town Museum will host a presentation applauding the Girl Scouts organization and its accomplishments in the community as well as the lives of individuals in the Coventryville area and across the U.S.

The presentation will be held at the Coventryville Congregational Church located at 113 County Road 27 in Coventryville. Doors will open at 6 p.m. so attendees can grab a snack and sign in.

The program will feature a slide show by the Girl Scout troops for the Coventryville area – Service Unit 365, lead by Jessica Chambers. Several of the young women from those troops will also help facilitate.

This is a great opportunity to bring children and grandchildren to meet, interact with, and learn from these future leaders of the community and country.

• An exhibit of historic documents, posters, maps and images about the National Girl Scouts, Girl Scouts in NY, local chapters of the Girl Scouts, and Service Unit 365 headquartered in Bainbridge
