NORWICH – The Chenango County Board of Supervisors has approved appropriations for a state grant that helps the county’s emergency call center beef up its operations.

The Chenango Sheriff’s Office has been awarded $170,855 by the NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, Office of Interoperable and Emergency Communications for the 2015-2016 fiscal year. The funds will be used to help facilitate operations of the public safety answering point located at the Chenango County Correctional Facility.
