Oxford man pepper sprayed after allegedly resisting arrest

OXFORD – A 30-year-old man sits in the Chenango County Correctional Facility charged with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor; resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor, disorderly conduct; and an open container ticket.

Michael J. Behr was arrested by the Oxford Police Department on Monday, Aug. 22, after authorities were called to a disturbance at a local establishment in the Village of Oxford. When authorities arrived on the scene, Behr allegedly started fighting with them. He was subsequently pepper sprayed, and transferred to Chenango Memorial Hospital.
