Binghamton man allegedly pointed loaded shotgun at Sheriff’s deputy

GREENE – A Binghamton man currently sits in the Chenango County Correctional Facility after he was arrested by members of the Chenango County Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police for menacing of a police officer, a class D felony.

Authorities originally responded to a complaint of shots fired at a residence on Hotchkiss Road in the Town of Greene. During their investigation, it is alleged that William M. Canny pointed a loaded shotgun at CCSO Deputy Blincoe. Deputy Blincoe subsequently drew his weapon and was able to deescalate the situation without any shots fired.
