Norwich golf opens league play with a close loss to the Black Knights

NORWICH – The Norwich varsity golf team has dropped their season league opener, following a showdown between the Tornado and the Windsor Black Knights.

Windsor would travel to Norwich to play the par 36 high school course at the Canasawacta Country Club, with them emerging as the team champions at 213 to 220.

Despite the team loss, Norwich would see their medalist on the day claim the match low in strokes as Ryan Johnson slept in for this spot, shooting only one off of par at 37. Johnson would be followed by Nate Scheer at 39, Brenon Maynard at 41, Alex Gage at 48, Griffin Clipston at 55, and Connor Nial at 66.
